Join The Fight for Better Mental Health Care Access in Aviation!

The FAA has created a culture of fear and silence when it comes to mental health care in aviation. We are committed to changing that.

Sign up for updates on our fight, today!

Join The Pilot Mental Health Campaign (PMHC) in breaking down the stigma and potential career repercussions for pilots seeking access to mental health planning and treatment. PMHC is advocating for legislative change in how the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) views pilot access to mental health.

PMHC has delivered numerous wins for aviators in 2024 including:

- Inclusion of mental health-focused language in the FAA Reauthorization Bill of 2024 including:

  • Formation of the Aviation Mental Health Task Group
  • Implementation of the Mental Health & Aviation Medical Clearances Rulemaking Committee (ARC) mental health recommendations (published April 1, 2024)

- Worked with Congress to craft and introduce the Aviation Medication Transparency Act, which was introduced in July 2024

- Worked with Congress to craft and introduce the Mental Health in Aviation Act, which was introduced in September 2024

Pressured the FAA to change some of their mental health policies including:

  • Individuals with a history of “uncomplicated” mental health diagnoses that have been treated through therapy can now be approved for a medical clearance directly from their AME without a special issuance

Join us in advocating for legislation that protects the safety of pilots and passengers.
